Qatar Aluminum Extrusion Co (QAEC)

A supported member of local aluminum powerhouse Qatar Industrial Manufacturing Company (QIMC), the new Qatar Aluminum Extrusion Co (QAEC) project is set to take the aluminum industry both locally and regionally, by storm. As proposed and tendered by QIMC, the new manufacturing unit is set for construction shortly and will continue over a period of ten months, taking into consideration possible setbacks along the way.

Qatar Aluminum Extrusion Co (QAEC) quick facts
The upcoming infrastructure had been tendered out a while back, with the QAEC calling for over seven reputed firms to step up for the role of main tender bid winner. Qatar-based M/s. Al Alia Trading and Contracting was awarded this role, with several stages of the project accumulating to a whopping budget of over QR72 million. Al Alia holds a reputable track- record within the construction industry and is locally renowned as being responsible for numerous impressive construction accomplishments and industrial ventures.
The New Industrial Area will be home to the new manufacturing unit with preliminary contracts having been signed by the chairman of QAEC, Mr. Abdul Rehman Al Ansari and the general manager of M/s. Al Alia Trading and Contracting, Mr. Ayman Khaled at the QIMC offices in Doha, just last week.

Development of Qatar Aluminum Extrusion Co (QAEC)
Despite initial award to M/s. Al Alia Trading And Contracting the responsibility for the construction of the main facility and other, not yet determined, associated infrastructures as part of the QAEC project, the upcoming stages of the project have not yet been defined, suggesting leeway into further tenders called for other sections of the project.

Qatar Industrial Manufacturing Company (QIMC) supporters
The QIMC, along with a number of its copartners have taken the opportunity the signing of the initial contract has offered, in highlighting the support the Ministry of Energy has extended to them throughout their endeavors, and in particular this upcoming feat. Due to the ministry’s public targets of both encouraging and supporting the development of clean and energy intensive industries, alongside achieving maximum integration between different key sectors within the local sphere, QIMC views this support as a positive step into the right direction. Having been granted state of the art land in the new Industrial Area in order to establish set up for the new facility, this indeed is a gesture of good faith and promise for QIMC and from the ministry itself. This support from authorities has boosted company interest to contribute its efforts towards the set goals and missions from the ministry, for the development of Qatari industrial and economical sectors at large.
